Description:  This exclusive single-vineyard Rioja is a classified as Viñedo Singular which is a completely new category in the area. This geographical indication includes a long list of strict requirements and aims to strengthen and protect the area's unique plots and parcels. The wine is composed of 100% Tempranillo, which is harvested from a 75-year-old vineyard in Samaniego, in the absolute heart of Rioja Alavesa. Favored by its deep calcareous and clay soils and its very high location, which makes it possible to maintain acidity and freshness in the final wine. Cultivation according to sustainable principles, extremely low harvest yields, exclusively hand harvesting and painstaking grape sorting, results in perfectly ripe and highly concentrated fruit. The must ferments spontaneously in casks of 5000 liters, followed by 24 months of aging in new French barriques (225 liter casks).

Tasting Note : This magnificent single-vineyard Rioja that impresses with its richness of extract, power and elegance. A wine that delivers extraordinary structure, coolness and minerality. The scent oozes classic-spicy Tempranillo fruit and sweet spice with notes of sun-ripened cherries, sweet strawberries, coffee and vanilla chocolate, surrounded by Asian incense sticks, dried paprika, pipe tobacco and crushed stone. A lactic fruit note , wild forest berries, gives the wine a wonderful freshness and uplifted character. Full, juicy and densely creamy mouth, with a straight-backed tannin structure that bites intensively. Red cherries, boysenberries, smoked peppers and exotic spices, surrounded by green tobacco leaves, blackberry bush, bitter coffee beans and licorice.  Extremely ageable and terroir driven, this masterful single field edition from Baigorri - modern Rioja at its most beautiful!
