Anne is essentially a wine oracle. If there’s anything she doesn’t know about wine then it’s probably not worth knowing. Whether it’s judging wine panels for book publications or picking up the phones in our office, she is passionate about sharing her knowledge. Nine times out of ten you’ll have the pleasure of speaking to her when you give us a call.
Anne’s latest favourite is Hugel Riesling from Alsace.
Will Mullin
Will picked up his mum Anne’s passion for wine and spent sometime visiting vineyards across Australia, the USA, New Zealand and Europe in his early twenties. After managing the Dublin showroom for luxury brand Bang & Olufsen he joined the family business. Not to be outdone, he’s currently studying for his Diploma in Wine and Spirits.
Will cant get away from Pinot Noir - particularly Pinots from the U.S.A. and Burgundy.
Gerry Fitzsimons
Gerry is an authority on wine. Whether it’s taking trips across Europe to discover the very best new wines or contributing to many wine publications, anyone who’s anyone wants Gerry’s opinion on wine. He’s won a number of awards for wine tasting and is never happier than when out and aboutdiscovering something new. But that’s not to say he’s not still partial to a classic!
Gerry’s favourite wine is 'La Bernardine' Chateauneuf-du-Pape from M Chapoutier - he loves big Rhone reds.
Ian Mullin
Keeping it in the family, Ian is another of Anne’s sons and Wine Online’s resident foodie. He writes regular recipes and pulls together all of the food matches as well as being very happy to give his advice on wine matching for any occasion.
Ian’s favourite wine is Old Vine Lodi Zinfandel from Ravenswood.
About Us
We started off 14 years ago as the first company in Ireland to sell wine over the internet. Since then lots has changed. But what we’re about hasn’t. We’re an Irish owned family-run business, we’re crazy about wine and we spend a lot of time seeking out exceptional wines from vineyards around the world in order to bring them to your doorstep. By cutting out the middle man we offer great value, whilst offering unique wines you can’t get elsewhere. Between the team we have a wide range of experience and qualifications, but we think our greatest strength is that we are driven by our love of wine.
How it all began
Anne and Gerry met whilst studying wine. And they really know their stuff. Both were founding members of the infamous Premier Cru wine club in Dublin. Both have Diploma’s from the Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET) in London. And both are members of the Irish Guild of Sommeliers. They decided to put all of that wine expertise to good use and set up WineOnline.ie.
