Our Red Wine of the year: Lopez De Haro Crianza
This Rioja stole our hearts this year. A beautifully crafted blend of Tempranillo, Garnacha and Graciano, it captures everything we love about classic Rioja, ripe red fruit, subtle spice, and silky oak. All in perfect harmony. Medium-bodied and effortlessly elegant, it shows incredible balance between fruit and barrel, with a gentle warmth that makes every sip feel like home.
Aged for 12–14 months in a mix of French and American oak, this wine has a contemporary polish while remaining true to tradition.
Neil Martin called it “a contemporary classic,” and Luis Gutiérrez described it as “a bargain for this level of quality.”
We couldn’t agree more. It offers sensational value and timeless charm. It’s no surprise our tasting panel crowned it Red Wine of the Year.
Our White Wine of the year: Lu Castelline Pecorino
There’s a special pride in celebrating wines from producers we’ve known for decades, and Di Camillo is one of them. Based in Poggiofiorito and Arielli, just inland from Abruzzo’s Costa dei Trabocchi, the Di Camillo family has been crafting wines with integrity and care for over a century — and we’ve been honoured to work with them for more than 20 years.
Their Lu Castelline Trebbiano d’Abruzzo is a wonderful expression of the region: bright, aromatic and full of life. It’s made from organically grown grapes, late-harvested for richness, and gently macerated before fermentation in barriques — a technique that brings texture and depth without losing freshness.
In the glass, it's a pale straw yellow with green highlights. Expect lifted aromas of green apple, lemon zest, wild herbs and tropical fruit, all carried by a beautifully balanced, crisp finish. It’s the kind of wine that reminds us why Italian whites are among the world’s favourites.
Our team voted it White Wine of the Year for its sheer drinkability, elegance, and sense of place.
