After a busy few months in Santry, our warehouse is fuller than ever with loose bottles of all types and styles, from all over the world. Last year we had a one day sale at the end of July and you bought the lot in one day!
We bring in the stocktakers on August 1st so it was a great opportunity for us to reward our loyal customers with great value mixed cases of wines, whilst we dwindled the stocks and didn't have to count thousands of loose bottles!
Yesterday Anne and I spent the whole day tasting wines to ensure that only the best wines go into these mixed cases. If it is not drinking well then it doesn't go in the case - simple. The quality of these wines is pretty great ranging from €11 per bottle to some €35 for some bottles. We are only including Grapes that will have aged beautifully over the last couple of years - Chardonnay, Verdelho, Riesling and Pinot Blanc. We're also including fresh vintages of Sauvignon Blancs and Tempranillo's as well - all in all these cases will be one off's.
We also have a wealth of Rieslings we're including that are €25 per bottle - A friend introduced me to a Riesling from the Rhinegau last year and we bought a lot of it - Almost all cases will have a bottle of this and you will get every bottle for €9.50 per bottle.
There will be 500 cases in all, and they will cost only €114 for 12 bottles - (€9.50 per bottle!) we're giving these away at that price, and happy to do so!
The sale will launch on Tuesday July 29th at 11am - We'll send a newsletter when it goes live so sign up on our homepage if you haven't already done so www.wineonline.ie.
You can reserve a case in advance by emailing sales@wineonline.ie asking for a case to be held in your name. Cases will be allocated on a first come first served basis and the sale will close on Thursday 31st or when stocks sell out. Last year we sold out in 6 hours so we expect high demand once again this year.
See you in a few weeks.... now to get back to packing the boxes up for you!
Here's how we got on yesterday in the tasting room - Anne's sitting because she broke her foot on the last day of her holidays recently, so I'm doing all the heavy lifting... and opening the bottles.
