Bodegas Riojanas is one of the century-old Rioja firms that have written memorable episodes in the history of Spanish wine. Viña Albina was the first brand to be launched on the market at the end of the nineteenth century. 

For the 120 Aniversario wine selection process, the winemaking team chose two vineyards, one of Tempranillo and the other of old Garnacha vines, very different grape varieties characteristic of Rioja that, however, complement each other with exceptional harmony in the new wine.

The close selection of two hand-picked vineyards, as well as careful production, have made it possible for fans of the brand to toast this important date with VIÑA ALBINA SELECCIÓN 120 ANIVERSARIO, elegant and persistent, a wine that envelops the palate. Such a precious perfume requires a packaging that matches, so the winery chose a bottle in an exclusive Bordeaux style with a truncated cone shape, dressed in a label that recalls the 120 years of history during which VIÑA ALBINA has accompanied lovers of its wines.

Alcoholic fermentation is conducted to enhance the work of the native yeasts selected from both plots. Once alcoholic fermentation is complete, the wine is macerated with the skins for 20 days. It is aged for four months in medium-plus toasted French and American oak barrels to provide complexity, aromatic nuances, and structure on the palate.

Tasting Notes:
A fresh, pleasant red with a long, versatile sip, Fine fruity notes (red fruit, berries from the riverbank) and mineral notes (iron), with a subtle hint of good oak. Balanced, fresh, with a rich, fleshy centre, and a smooth, flavourful, fruity, and lively mouthfeel.
