Nerello Mascalese (average age of 20 years) grown in the Contrada Calderara township of Randazzo. On the slopes of Mount Etna at an altitude of 600-650 metres in volcanic and extremely rocky (black pumice and solid volcanic rocks) soil. Hand harvested grapes undergo a spontaneous fermentation and are aged in French oak barriques, tonneaux and big barrels (10% new oak). They are bottled after 14 months of wood ageing and one month in steel.
A rich ruby appearance with purple hues, on the nose it shows an intense flowery and fruity bouquet of young red fruits, the flavour is joyous and fresh, yet deep and elegant.
