Compañía de Vinos Telmo Rodríguez grew out of the partnership between Telmo Rodríguez and Pablo Eguzkiza, two winemakers with deep experience in Burgundy and Rioja. They work across many of Spain's classic regions, always with the native grapes of each place, and are widely credited with helping to revive forgotten vineyards and village wines across the country.

Matallana is their top Ribera del Duero, a blend of old bush vines from several villages across the region, farmed with great care and made with minimal intervention. It is aged for around 15 months in French oak barrels and has excellent ageing potential.

Tasting Notes:
Intense aromas of ripe plums and black cherries with hints of violets. Juicy and succulent on the palate, with spice and an earthy note, a silky texture and a fine balance between freshness and body.

Food Pairing:
Roast lamb, beef, game and hard cheeses.
