Contessa Camilla Montepulciano d'Abruzzo

This wonderful barrique aged single estate wine is the epitome of what Italian wine is all about. Very attractive dark ruby wine with typical Italian bitter cherry fruit softened with medium tannins. The wine shows layers of fruit concentration with a classy full bodied roundness and complexity, thanks to the 12 months it spends in small barriques prior to bottling. Rich and opulent using native Montepulciano grapes and giving a supple delicious structure. Great with food or to enjoy on its own.

A family winery that was founded in 1918 as Bodegas Arjona, Navajas believes that the quality of the wine begins in the vineyards and for this reason they monitor and control the vineyards which belong to their growers in the Rioja Alta and Rioja Baja. This smooth, plump Rioja wins pride of place as one of our members' favourite reds, vintage after vintage. We love its combination of vanilla-infused flavour from high-quality oak ageing and vibrant red-fruit notes.

It is virtually impossible to find amazing wines from California and all of America that are exceptional without costing the Earth. This is one such wine. it is a Chardonnay that is absolutely exceptional. it is subtle, with small amounts of delicate oak peppered through the wine. it is made in the new way of making Chardonnay that is lighter, fresher and wonderful to taste. Great with food but just as good without. You will love this one! 

La Lisse Soire d'Ivoire Chenin Blanc

If you are for exploring new wines, well made, this is the one for you. It is all that Chenin Blanc is supposed to be and more. It is fresh, mouth filling, creamy and textured. Wonderful with seafood, roast meats, light cheeses and creamy dishes, it is a cracking little wine for dinner parties, as it is a little different, great value and something new and slightly left field. It will appeal to everyone too. 

Carlos Lucas Vinhos, Cota 700

Carlos Lucas is a very talented winemaker with over 25 years of experience across Portugal. The vineyard is planted following the traditional plantation methods, with the grapes harvested by hand, into small boxes of 18kg, according to a careful selection of the best grapes in the vineyard. The goal is to produce wines that tell a story, that show their dedication and passion for Portuguese grape varieties, never forgetting the importance of tradition and ancient techniques.

Tasting notes: Red, almost violet colour, with the perfumes of black mulberry and blackberries and a light nuance of pine needles. The wine is very fresh, young with a sweet but elegant palate.
