WineOnline.ie are delighted to present an unmissable evening of food and wine in the company of Mireia Torres, 5th generation of Bodegas Torres, Spain’s leading wine company. Mireia joined the family business in 1999, the same year WineOnline.ie was founded. She is a trained Oenologist, president of the Familia Torres Foundation and the director of the Jean Leon winery in near Barcelona in Spain. On the night Mireia will tell us all about the work of the Torres Foundation, which was founded in 1986. To date the foundation has collaborated in over 400 project around the world. The priority of the foundation is the education and care of children around the world. Mireia ensures the family’s profile is put to good use and as director of the Jean Leon winery she will take is through the wines over a three course meal in the surroundings of Bang Restaurant in Dublin 2 on Wednesday November 20th at 7.30pm.

Mireia Torres Maczassek , Familia Torres’s Director of Knowledge and Innovation
With a degree in chemical engineering from the Chemical Institute of Sarrià (Ramon Llull University, Barcelona) and a diploma in oenology and viticulture from the National Institute of Higher Education in Agricultural Sciences in Montpellier, Mireia joined the company in 1999 to manage the analysis laboratory. She later became the technical manager, playing a decisive role in the family’s projects in Ribera del Duero, Priorat, Rioja, and Rueda. Much of her professional career has been dedicated to research in the field of winemaking and winegrowing. Besides managing Familia Torres’s Knowledge and Innovation Department, she is also the director of Jean Leon and president of the Familia Torres Foundation.
