La Colline - Grand Brandy De France XO

blended from Eau-de-vies hand-picked by our cellar masters for their premium quality,
their smoothness and their complementarity. The blend is then aged for more than
10 years in oak casks in order to reach what LaColline is all about: a peak of delicacy

Tasting Notes : Amber orange, yellow gold colour. 

Nose: Very elegant, pretty soft, and a lot of roundness. At first, well balanced vanilla and woody notes come out. Then, complex aromatics notes combine with floral notes (rose and peony) with esters (candy), fresh fruits (apricot), candied fruits (candied orange peel, prune and fig) and dried fruits (nuts, almond shells). Then it all evolves towards warm woody notes (dark chocolate powder) and spicy notes of saffron, curry, but also candied lemon and ginger. In the end, nutmeg notes spring up

Mouth: The attack is quite soft, and shows some sweetness. The tannic structure balances and melds well with the Eau-de-vie. The aromatic notes are like those of the nose with a dominance of chocolate powder, roasted coffee beans, and hot spicy sensations.

Finish: It is soft and with a long finish, without any aggressiveness or bitterness. It is a rare, good quality Brandy, endowed with a good maturity and a great aromatic complexity. It offers a nice balance at the palate with an explosion of aromas, and a long finish, as much as a good Cognac. It can be drunk on the rocks, like a Cognac, but also a perfect base for refined cocktails.
