Convinced of the need to protect the environment, in 2009, the GUSTAVE LORENTZ estate converted all its vines (33ha) to organic.
Organic viticulture is a constant search for balance between the expression of the terroirs and respect for the environment.
To practice “organic” viticulture is to take the grape to optimal maturity making the most of the richness offered by nature. Natural viticulture is to guide the development of the wine by making the most of the resources provided by the wine itself.
The wine is already in the grape, and this means it is necessary to produce healthy grapes and preserve their aromatic qualities so that the wine reveals their substances.
Since 2012, Their estate has been inpsected and certified Organic, a guarantee of their production methods.
To respect the soil and the terroir
When the soil is alive, the micro-organisms that colonise it transform the mineral to make its equivalent elements through the grapevine… we strive to maintain and stimulate soil life. Only living soil is good for the vine, the essence of the land.
To protect the environment
Fertilisation takes place with slightly soluble natural fertilisers; herbicides are prohibited (mechanical – and partly manual – maintenance of the soils). Only treatment products based on simple minerals, plant extracts or homeopathic preparations are allowed.
To respect the consumer’s health
The growing methods used and yield control gives rise to well-focused and balanced products, free of pesticide residues.
