Description:
Finca Museum is the Cigales estate of the Barón de Ley group, set at around 800 metres in a region of harsh continental climate, with hot summers, cold winters and day to night temperature swings of up to 20°C. Its old vineyards, many over 70 years of age, are planted on calcareous clay covered with large stones.
La Renacida, 'the reborn', is a field blend of red and white grapes from an old vineyard, aged for a year on its lees in large French oak foudres.
Tasting Notes:
A nuanced, spicy red with dark cherry, plum, lavender and bay leaf, plus liquorice, pepper and dark chocolate, framed by gentle oak.
Food Pairing:
Lamb or beef, especially stews and roasts.
