The Esporão Estate is one of the largest and oldest domains in the Alentejo region, lead by flying winemaker David Baverstock. The exceptional climatic conditions; good light, hot sun, humid Atlantic breezes from the Northwest and the unique xistous and vulcanic soils, constitute the origins for the outstanding wines of Esporão. The red is a complex wine with great depth of fruit and a long flavoursome palate, good oak integration and soft tannins.
Ageing Potential: 2-5 Years
Alandra is a blend of Moreto, Castelao, and Trincadeira. Even if you're not familiar with these grapes, this red is hard not to like; ample ripe berry, including black cherry, blackcurrant, and a hint of spice are supported by gentle tannins to create a delightfully food-friendly wine.
