Château Lynch-Bages is one of the most iconic estates in Bordeaux, with a winemaking history dating back to the 17th century. Developed as an "echo" of this prestigious estate's first wine, this wine benefits from the same attentive care, from the vine to the cellar. It offers the flavour, aroma and finish characteristic of the wines of Pauillac and Château Lynch-Bages.
92-93/100 Points - James Suckling
"A balance of blackberry, chocolate and stone with a medium body, creamy texture and a soft finish. The length and depth are very pretty, while the juicy, velvety tannins are so attractive."
"As always, Echo is not a second wine designed to be drunk young. Brambly fruit lines the nose, which is intense and ripe, with an almost roasted quality. The tannins hit immediately on the palate, moving in tandem with the black fruit at the core. Lightly chewy with rich chalky depth, there is a saline edge that is very moreish, but the tannins will need a little time to settle before approaching. Vertical, tense and very much of the house style."
"Ripe plums and black cherries on the nose, really quite intense and bright. Vibrant but rich too. A lot of high acidity, really quite prominent, verging on sharp, but lifts the expression and gives a real edge to the red fruits on the palate. Sleek, well defined, but this also has some chew and flesh as well as bite. It’s a little high toned, but actually once it’s settles it’ll be lovely for sooner drinking. Bright, young, buzzy and easy."
Tasting Notes:
The 2023 Echo de Lynch-Bages serves as a vibrant and seductive counterpoint to the Grand Vin. Dominated by Merlot (55%) in this vintage, it offers an unusually fleshy and approachable profile for a Pauillac. The nose bursts with high-toned aromas of cassis, violets, and graphite. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and succulent, with a cashmere-like texture and a lively, savoury finish that reflects the estate's signature power with added elegance.
