The 1er cru "Garenne" is located just above the 1er cru "Champs Gain" which itself is placed above the "Folatières". Its location at the top of the hillside offers a unique soil composition where limestone outcrops throughout the plot. Very thin soils, very steep hillsides and a powerful wind constantly sweeping this climate bordering the Combe de Saint-Aubin. The 1er cru "Garenne" is a must-have cuvée from Domaine Matrot.
Tasting note:
The 2022 version reveals a precise and bright bouquet that evolves well in the glass. The first nose reveals notes of white fruit with peach and nectarine. The evolution is driven by mineral, fresh almond and white flowers. On the palate, the substance is longer than it is wide. Beautiful, sapid and mineral persistence.
