Description:
Coto de Caleruega is the Ribera del Duero project of the Barón de Ley group, with high-altitude vineyards at around 900 metres on loam and clay over conglomerate rock, where long cold winters and short hot summers give concentrated, fresh fruit.
The wine is fermented in stainless steel and then spends at least three months in 225-litre oak barrels, a short time in wood that keeps the fruit to the fore.
Tasting Notes:
Expressive aromas of ripe red and black forest fruits, sweet spice and toasty oak. Soft and flavourful on the palate, with volume, complexity and a long finish.
Food Pairing:
Starters, rice dishes, fish and white or grilled meats
