In 1996 the Estate decided to tackle the challenge of making their first ultra premium wine; for its inaugural production they set apart 20 barrels of the best fruit the `96 vintage had provided. Since, then it evolved to a wider range, yet with the same high-quality approach. The wine is exceptionally well made, and offers an extremely typical very well made Cabernet Sauvignon. It has the hall marks of a great wine, and is compared to and suggested to have no competition from Bordeaux at this price level. It stands up to any of its competitors and is a serious bargain right now. 

Tasting Notes:
Most definitely a Cabernet Sauvignon with ample character and personality. This wine has a beautiful, concentrated ruby red colouring and intense aromas of plum, cassis and blueberries, which combine gracefully with softer earthy traces and end with hints of mocha and smoke. A full, complex and intense palate with persistence and an elegant finish.
