At €65 per bottle it is cheaper than Mouton which is 18.5 times more expensive. We don't believe Mouton is 18.5 times better though! This is one of the great Rioja wines. It has done it's ageing ahead of time, and it is now 9precisely 10 years old, from the 2015 vintage. It is drinking perfectly and you are in for a real treat with this wine. Bodegas Navajas is one of the great Rioja houses & this cuvee was made to celebrate 100 years of winemaking in 2015. There are layers of chocolate, brambles, fine oak, cedar and vanilla. Wonderful old-fashioned Rioja that is developed but is classic and classy and sings of freshness. It was aged in a blend of American and French oak barriques.

A family property, Adrien Lagneaux makes just 3000 bottles of wine per year. He was one of the last little guys in Pauillac. In 2019, he sold the whole 1 hectare vineyard to neighbouring estate Chateau Mouton Rothschild. The juice since that time has gone into the Grand Vin of Chateau Mouton Rothschild, making this an extremely special wine indeed. There is little one needs to say about some wines, because they announce their own arrival once opened. This Pauillac is very special, and the 2016 vintage is drinking wonderfully right now. It is an early opening vintage and 8 years on, this will really deliver if decanted 3 – 4 hours ahead of Christmas dinner. One of the great Bordeaux Vintages!

Taylors 10 year old port is An exceptionally fine old tawny blend, aged for an average of 10 years in oak casks. Elegant and smooth, combining delicate wood notes and rich mellow fruit, it is bottled for drinking now, and so should be enjoyed over the festive season. Excellent with soft cheeses such as brie, or gorgonzola, particularly with desserts made with coffee or almonds, Taylor’s 10 Year Old Tawny is also delicious served lightly chilled at the end of your meal.
