Château Pesquié is a family estate located at the foot of the Ventoux Mountain, in the south of the Rhone Valley, gathering three generations of winemakers. At JN Wine we are proud to showcase these wonderful wines and hope to share the Pesquié passion for: unique terroir, hand harvesting, organic practises and biodynamic principles with old vines planted on unique soils.
The terroir of Château Pesquié has one of the coolest microclimates in the south of the Rhône Valley. The terroir has a great mineral diversity, predominantly consisting of limestone. The Ventoux Mountain provides exceptional conditions to create outstanding wines.
Located at an average altitude of about 300 meters, it is a blend of the
various terroirs of the estate from gravelly soil covered with pebbles and lime-stones, more or less rich in iron oxide.
This word TERRASSES comes from the Latin terras, meaning "lump of earth". The Ventoux region is characterized by alternating hills and valleys. To make the most of this exceptional terroir, vine growers and other farmers had to accomplish the colossal feat of building "terraces" into the steep hillsides.
Colour: Deep ruby in colour.
Nose: intense nose with spicy notes (especially black pepper) and red
Palate: This very balanced wine offers very round tannins and fresh
berries aromas, with some floral and spicy flavours.
