Chateau La Bastide Dauzac Margaux
Country: France Region: Bordeaux (Margaux)
Varietal: 58% Merlot 42% Cabernet Sauvignon
Vintage: 2019 Colour: Red Style: Dry
Producer: Chateau Dauzac
Description:
The second wine of Château Dauzac, Labastide Dauzac, is made from young vines or plots that do not go into the Grand Vin of this Margaux classified growth. Labastide is produced in the estate’s renovated cellars with the same care and attention as its older brother, Château Dauzac, in order to express its own version of this unique Médoc terroir.
Tasting Notes:
The nose is fruity, powerful, pointed by mild tobacco notes. Perceptible roasted notes after agitation. Full and rich upfront, the wine immediately shows its class. The tannins are certainly elegant, conferring some freshness and grace. Several tasters found black cherry notes, and liked the clean finish. A true Margaux, delicate through and through, drinkable very soon, with thyme-rubbed lamb chops or casserole.
