Château Bellefont-Belcier was bought in 1889 by the Faure family who, through their innovation and hard work, made this estate into one of the jewels of the Bordeaux region. In 1994, it became the property of BJL & Partenaires, opening a new chapter in the life of this Grand Cru Classé, whose facilities were modernized. Château Bellefont-Belcier has passed through several hands in recent years before joining the Vignobles K of Hong Kong's Peter Kwok in 2017. Around twenty hectares in total, the vineyard of Château Bellefont-Belcier, Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Emilion in the Bordeaux region, extends over a clay-limestone hillside and molasse de Fronsadais soils.

Gorgeous cassis and black raspberry fruits give way to a full-bodied, incredibly elegant 2019 with loads of floral notes, the classic minerality of this terroir, ripe tannins, and blockbuster of a finish. The elegance and purity of this wine paired with its richness and depth are something."

"From a beautifully situated hillside vineyard, sandwiched between Larcis Ducasse and Tertre Roteboeuf on either side, with holdings belonging to Pavie and Troplong Mondot on the plateau above, the 2019 Bellefont Belcier has turned out very well indeed. Offering up aromas of smoky berry fruit, loamy soil, subtle spices, black truffle and violets, it's full-bodied, velvety and seamless, with a vibrant, enveloping profile and a long, penetrating finish. This is a terrific effort, though given the thoughtful farming and program of replanting that is underway at this long-neglected estate, I suspect it only hints at what is to come as Jean-Christophe Meyrou and his team get to work. 2025 - 2050"

The Château Bellefont-Belcier 2019 displays a beautiful dense garnet red colour. What freshness and complexity in its intense bouquet! Aromas of black berries mingle with liquorice. On the palate, this wine reveals its terroir of origin, through a refreshing tension typical of wines from limestone soils. The Bellefont-Belcier 2019 is a lively and full-bodied wine with compact and powerful tannins. The finish reveals plenty of fruit and is distinguished by its length. A delicious wine.
