During the 1990’s, Bodega Catena Zapata set new standards for Argentine wine. In an effort to produce a super-premium wine, the winemaking team of Catena began in-depth investigation into the yields from specially selected, high altitude vineyards, identifying the individual lots that produce the best fruit.

 Over two decades ago, Nicolás Catena Zapata selected the Tupungato appellation with its pebble-covered soils and extreme cool nights, to plant the family’s Chardonnay vineyards. Tupungato lies between 4000 and 5000ft in the foothills of the Andes mountains.

Tasting Note: This is a really aromatic and expressive Chardonnay, expect ripe orchard fruits on the nose and a wonderful dry mineral laden finish.
