Bota Bota 'La Boticaria' Organic Garnacha Blanca
Country: Spain Region: Cariñena, Aragón
Varietal: 100% Garnacha Blanca
Category: White Wine Style: Dry
Producer: Bota Bota
Description:
La Boticaria comes from just 0.67 hectares of ancient Garnacha Blanca vines, 70 to 90 years old, in the hills of the Sierra de Algairén near Almonacid de la Sierra. The soils are stony alluvial deposits from the Jalón and Huerva rivers over a calcareous base, ideal for drought-resistant old vines.
The grapes are pressed straight away, cold settled for 24 hours and fermented slowly at 14°C. The wine then spends 8 to 10 months on its lees with daily stirring, with no oak, giving it real texture and depth. Organic and suitable for vegans.
Tasting Notes:
Intense aromas of white peach, fennel and lemon curd. The palate is creamy and mouth-coating, with savoury depth balanced by stony minerality and a long, saline finish.
Food Pairing:
Pan-seared scallops, salt-crust sea bass, creamy wild mushroom risotto, herb-roasted chicken, aged Manchego or gambas al ajillo.
