Description:
Astobiza is a family-owned single estate in Okondo, in the Ayala Valley of Álava. It farms 7 hectares at around 250 metres, works only with native Basque grapes and is known for age-worthy Txakoli. The estate is a member of Grandes Pagos de España.

The grapes are hand selected, given a cold maceration before fermentation in stainless steel, and the wine rests on its fine lees for four to five months. Suitable for vegans.

Tasting Notes:
Pale straw with green reflections. Pear and apple with grapefruit and a hint of peach. Fresh and well balanced on the palate, with a subtle creamy texture from the lees and a long finish with delicate bitter and mineral notes.

Food Pairing:
Grilled prawns, shellfish, ceviche, lightly grilled white fish, sushi and seafood risotto.
