Description:
The soil is made up of sun exposed primary rock and loess terraces , accessed only with difficulty which means that the harvest is carried out by hand. The grapes are subjected to strict quality control being separated by quality and origin so that a wide range of individual wine qualities and specialities can be bottled. Only fully ripe undamaged grapes are fed to the press where the juice is gently extracted in whole cluster pressing. The juice is then fed into stainless steel tanks where a temperature controlled fermentation takes place. Every stage of maturation is constantly monitored and tested by experienced oenologists and the winemaker.
Tasting Note:
Fruity minerally nose, full bodied with lots of extract, peppery spiciness, with a long, lingering finish. An excellent example of this Austrian indigeneous grape in the hands of the right producer.
