Description:
This varietal wine comes from a single vineyard area called Vinha da Peceguina. It's exactly what you want from this signature Alentejo grape variety...
Made in just stainless steel, in order to best express varietal characteristics
The grapes are manually picked in the early hours of the day and put into boxes of 12Kg. After selection and sorting, the grapes were removed from their stalks and gently pressed. Fermentation at low temperatures in stainless steel tanks.
.
Tasting Note: This wine has fleshy stone fruit, freshened by zippy lemon citrus. Weight on the palate is natural and only lifted by a little lees. Minerality and texture are great through the mid-palate,with a little flintiness and wet-stone. A crisp, long finish, full of flavour.
Food Matches: Given Antão Vaz's versatility in terms of flavor profile, think seafood and Atlantic/Mediterranean cuisine here. Food pairings for Antão Vaz can include fish, especially oily fish such as grilled tuna steak for wines with more acidity.
Other pairings could include a more Mediterranean dish such as stuffed red peppers. Even the likes of a hearty, white-meat based dish such as burritos with chicken could work well here.
