This wonderful barrique aged single estate wine is the epitome of what Italian wine is all about. Rich and opulent using native Montepulciano grapes and giving a supple delicious structure. Very attractive dark ruby wine with typical Italian bitter cherry fruit softened with medium tannins. The wine shows layers of fruit concentration with a classy full bodied roundness and complexity, thanks to the 12 months it spends in small barriques prior to bottling.

The grapes for this juicy and enticing Spanish Red come exclusively from 3 ha of a single parcel called “La Pinada”, growing on alluvial and clay soils. These bush-vines are really old now, planted in 1958, and are one of the key factors that make this so good to drink. There is a lovely intensity to the fruit - with no hard edges, no excess weight. Just an easy flow and dangerous drinkability!
Domaine de Vedilhan Syrah

A limited release Syrah, produced only in exceptional vintages.
The grapes for this cuvée were harvested from 40 year old vines. The Syrah grapes were de-stemmed and macerated in tank. Ageing takes place predominantly in stainless steel with a fifth aged in oak.
