Description:
Bideona is a Rioja Alavesa project based in Villabuena de Álava, focused on single villages and single plots across the Sierra de Cantabria foothills.
Alto los Muertos is a Vino de Paraje, a single-plot wine from just half a hectare of vines very close to the winery, planted with six different clones of Tempranillo alongside a little of other local varieties. Only around 700 bottles are made, and the wine spends 16 months in barrique.
Tasting Notes:
Ripe dark berries, dark chocolate, fine toasty notes and a touch of leather and thyme on the nose. The palate is juicy and dense, with blueberry and elderberry fruit and lovely freshness, leading to a long, powerful and complex finish.
Food Pairing:
Roast poultry, game and aged cheeses.
