In celebration of Robert Mondavi Winery’s 60th anniversary and its grand reopening, their winemaking team has crafted a commemorative Cabernet Sauvignon—a wine both historic and forward-looking. This limited-edition, non-recurring, release with only 3,000 cases produced, marks both the winery’s 60th anniversary and grand reopening, making it a true milestone wine. It stands out with heritage 1966 packaging that connects to the winery's roots, while also being the first to feature new architectural elements from their renovated winery, blending tradition and innovation. Sourced exclusively from two renowned vineyards, this wine offers exceptional quality and collectability.

Vineyard Sourcing:
The wine brings together two distinct personalities of Cabernet Sauvignon, using the same clones from the two original Robert Mondavi estate vineyards: the iconic To Kalon Vineyard in Oakville and our Wappo Hill Vineyard, which Robert planted at his hilltop home in Stags Leap District. The result is a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon wine with classic structure and a modern brightness and mouthfeel.

Vintage Notes:
The 2023 vintage in Napa Valley was exceptional, with one of the longest growing seasons in a decade or more. Harvested between September 27 and October 18, consistent, mild weather and abundance of sunshine allowed grapes to ripen slowly and develop maximum flavour concentration while maintaining great acidity. The wine spent 24 days on the skins and was aged 19 months in French oak (36.30% new)—leading to a vintage with freshness, purity, and elegance.

Tasting Notes:
Aromas: Opens with ripe raspberry, blackberry, and blueberry, with hints of dried herb, graham cracker, and mineral popping against the fresh fruit notes. 
Flavours: High-toned notes of juicy red berry lead into cranberry with a line of bright acidity carrying straight through, complemented by sweet toast and a savoury finish.
Body: Plush and elegant, with density, concentration, and structure. The tannins are pretty and polished, and the finish is very fresh and lengthy.
