Copeland Smugglers Reserve Bordeaux Grand Cru Rum
Smugglers’ Reserve is inspired by clandestine smuggling activities that took place along the Copeland Islands throughout the 18th and 19th century and gives honour to the contrabandists that brought tastes of new worlds to Co. Down’s shores.
The carefully selected Barbados rum has been aged in Kentucky bourbon barrels, with Copeland's own rum aged in Quarter bourbon casks. After 8 months in these heavy, first fill American oak casks, the rum is transferred into 8 Premier One, French Grand Cru casks to finish the rum for a period of 4 months. With these casks having held some of Bordeaux's most prestigious wines of 2020, the flavour profiles are robust and full.
HOW TO ENJOY IT
With smells of allspice, citrus, black peppercorn, oak and brown sugar, this delicious rum tastes of tropical fruits, orange and banana. The result is a sticky velvet richness, with a delectable cherry and light vanilla finish. This well-balanced rum can be enjoyed neat over ice or as part of your favourite cocktail.
