Admiral Rodney 'HMS Royal Oak' Rum
A delectable St Lucian rum with notes of raisins, prunes, tropical spice, chocolate and toasty oak. HMS Royal Oak is a blend of rums aged between seven to twelve years in bourbon casks, all of which were crafted in a Coffey still at St Lucia Distillers.
The rum is named after Georges Brydges Rodney, a British naval officer, famous for his tactical acumen, who fought against the French in the 18th Century.
Tasting Note
Nose: Heavy, brown sugar sweetness with molasses in there too. Lots of burnt caramel and a hint of white pepper.
Palate: Smooth and soft. There is pepper and spice here but it's nicely ensconced in the flowing toffee and caramel.
Finish: Vanilla and cloves floating over the caramel with a pleasant oaky dry note.
Overall: A beautiful sipping rum, soft, rounded and wonderfully easy to drink.
