Elaboration
This French wine is absolutely fantastic. It's made from a blend of syrah, grenache, mourvèdre, and carignan grapes. The grapes come from Pic Saint-Loup, which is located north of Montpellier, and it's made by one of the top winemakers in the Languedoc region. Even though the grape harvest in 2019 was not as abundant as usual, with yields of only 25hl/ha at most, Benoit Viot managed to create an outstanding wine by allowing the grape skins to soak in the juice for 30 days.
Winemaker's Notes
This wine offers optimism, generosity, roundness and balance. Its aromas of ripe fruit, spices and garrigue can accompany a candied duck with figs, a baked lamb steak or a grilled beef ribs. We suggest a serving temperature of 16ºC.
About the Winery
Le Chemin des Rêves is located 10 km northwest of Montpellier. The name of the Domaine Viticole comes from a small path bordering the vineyards. The owner, a former pharmacist, fell in love with the vineyards and decided to build the winery, an estate that comprises 20 hectares of vines, spread over two terroirs in the Languedoc PDO: Pic Saint Loup and Grés de Montpellier, which has been labeled organic since November 2017.
