Description:
Established in 1837, Château la Loubière is located in Montussan on the hillsides just north of Entre-Deux-Mers. The estate's name translates from Occitan as "territory of wolves," as the vineyards about a forest where packs of wolves once ran wild. Today, the father and daughter team of Patrick and Caroline Teycheney sustainably farm the property, working towards organic certification.
Winemaker, Nicolas Géré, spent a year working alongside the most iconic owner of Hermitage in Rhône Valley: Jean Louis Chave, and then joined Chateau la Loubière 4 years ago.
Consultants at the Chateau are Jean Claude Berrouet and his son Jeff. Jean Claude has been the winemaker at Chateau Petrus for around 40 years!
Tasting Note: The nose shows an abundance of ripe red fruits with a touch of pepper. On the palate, juicy, fresh fruit flavors cascade across the tongue (red and black currant and blueberries) beautiful balance of silky tannins and delicate acidity. The finish is long, elegant and complex.
Food Matches: Have this with a ribeye steak
