Description:
This Merlot-dominated claret possesses great charm and suppleness. A deep ruby colour, the expressive nose offers aromas of red fruits and violets, accompanied by a hint of vanilla and toasted notes. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and fleshy, revealing a harmonious balance between supple tannins and richness of texture. Drinking beautifully now but will keep for up to ten years.

Perched on the highest point of the Libournais region, the Montagne-Saint-Emilion appellation overlooks stunning landscapes of rolling hills and limestone-clay plateaus. Bordered by Pomerol to the west and Saint-Émilion to the south, it is surrounded by prestigious neighbors who share similar values and terroirs. The Montagne hillside is separated from Saint-Émilion by the Barbanne Valley, a small stream winding through the vineyards.
Château Sarenceau’s vineyard straddles both appellations, thriving on a terroir predominantly composed of limestone. This family-owned estate is now in its fourth generation of passionate winemakers. Today, Ludovic Delage brings his expertise and deep connection to the land. The estate, covering just 9 hectares, allows for meticulous vineyard management. The vines are carefully pruned, the harvest is done manually, and the maceration lasts 3 to 4 weeks. Fermentation takes place in cement vats, and the wine is aged in both barrels and cement tanks.
