Chateau Sirio is owned by an Irish/ French couple, Emer and Fabrice, independent winemakers since 2015 at Château Sirio, in the Graves AOP. They follow sustainable practices to attain the finest expression of our Graves terroir.

Château Sirio is a 12-hectare AOP Graves estate located at the gates of the village of Cérons on the left bank of the Garonne River. The building, which dates from the 18th century, is composed of a farmhouse and vat and barrel cellars. Our vines are planted in one piece around the property, surrounded by forests. A natural wetland with a pond and bamboo trees provides coolness even in summer. In fact, we benefit from a microclimate that is one or two degrees cooler than our neighbours, which has an impact on our pruning and harvesting schedule, always about two weeks delayed. This singular geography allows us to control the care given to our soils and vines, isolated from any other external influence.

Our work and commitments

Our commitment to quality and respect for the environment extends to the entire production process, from vineyard work to bottling. We enrich our soils with organic fertilisers, we grass our rows, we prune our vines following the sap flow, and we harvest each plot at optimum maturity. Since 2023, we are members of the BEEFRIENDLY label, the label of farmers committed to the protection of pollinators. We do not use CMR products on the estate.

The Wines

Currently, there are 3 hectares of white Graves (80% Sauvignon blanc and gris, 20% Sémillon). The wines express all the typicity of their Graves terroir.

Our whites are dry, fruity and lively, with a fleshy mouthfeel and aromas of white flowers and citrus fruits. The Sauvignon and Sémillon are aged for 6 months in barrels, new for the Sémillon and used for the Sauvignon. The lees are regularly stirred.

Tasting Notes: Citrus nose with mineral notes. On the mouth the wine is refreshing and slightly creamy, with notes of lemon, grapefruit and a hint of ginger.  The firm structure of the wine ensures fruity sensations leading up to an energetic final.

Food Suggestion: Sushi's; Chicken tagine with candied lemons; Veal casserole; Tagliatelle with slips of smoked salmon; Leek fondue; a board of Goat cheeses. Dessert: apricot pannacotta.

Closure: Natural Cork  ABV:14%
