Bodegas Navajas Graciano Crianza
Country: Spain Region: Rioja
Varietal: 100% Graciano Vintage: 2019
Colour: Red Style: Dry
Producer: Bodegas Navajas
Description:
A family winery that was founded in 1918 as Bodegas Arjona, but in 1983 the Navajas family became the sole shareholders and changed its name to Bodegas Navajas.
Navajas believes that the quality of the wine begins in the vineyards and for this reason they monitor and control the vineyards which belong to their growers in the Rioja Alta and Rioja Baja.
About the wine: This is an unusual wine since most rioja is made from either 100% Tempranillo or a very high proportion of Tempranillo in the blend. The Graciano that goes into the Bodegas Navajas wine is all from old vines with low yields and is relatively late harvested – normally in the first week of October. The wine is aged in French and American oak barrels for 12-14 months and then given a year to rest in bottle before being released on to the market
Tasting Note:
- Deep cherry red with subtle violet tints
- Nose: balanced, lively and fruity aroma of black and red berries
- Mouth: flavours from the oak barrel, spicy, herbal, good ripeness, well-balanced, harmonious and round
