Varietal: Shiraz Mourvedre

Producer: Meerestein - Marinda Kruger van Eck
Description:
One could argue that this wine ozzes Rhone style quaility, but I dare say the french may disagree. This wine has a delcious bright raspberry and crushed blackcurrant character with a rich almost almond like finish.
Tasting Note:
This is an interesting blend of old bush vine Shraiz (around 70%) with the balance bening made up with Mouvedre. Sourced from excellent parcelss of fruit with long establ;ished growers with relationship spanning over some 20 years, wine maker Marinda Kruger Van Eck has encompased some the caharcter of the region.
Interestingly in this wine Marinda has useed tradtional techniques used in the Rhone for years, co-fermentation. This is where Vioginier is fermented with the Shiraz before it i is blended with the very slowgrowing Mourvedre.
This wine is great with rich and savourt red meatss or a gusty casserole.
