"The Mauroy family has 15 hectares of Pouilly Fumé vineyards, located on the south-facing slopes of Pouilly-sur-Loire and Saint-Andelain. Winemaker Katia Mauroy-Gauliez co-owns the estate with her brother Cédric. They are the 8th generation to oversee Domaine de Bel Air, which has been the family estate since the 19th Century. Katia's wine is structured yet generous and is among the best in the appellation.
To add complexity to the blend, the fruit is sourced from three slightly different vineyard parcels. The majority comes from the Kimmeridgian limestone, with the remainder coming from limestone, clay and sand, which supplies the fruit and aromatics to the blend.
Katia's wine is dry and flinty with a lovely undertone of ripe white currants. It is classic, understated and a joy to drink."

Vineyards:
Domaine de Bel Air has 14 hectares of Sauvignon Blanc vineyards on different soils: Kimmeridgian limestone, clay-chalk (argilo-calcaire) and sandy chalk. The vineyards are south-facing and benefit from a favourable microclimate thanks to their very close proximity to the River Loire, which moderates the cold temperatures of the region, encouraging greater ripeness and flavour development.
Vinification:
The grapes were pressed in a Bucher pneumatic press which ensured good but gentle extraction of the aromatic Sauvignon Blanc character. Fermentation took place in enameled steel, stainless steel and epoxy-lined underground vats with temperatures held at 19ºC, all of which retained the wine's freshness and purity of fruit. The wine remained on its lees during the winter. The finished wine is a blend of parcels planted on three different soil types, giving a wine with added complexity and depth.
Tasting Notes:
Pale lemon yellow in colour. The nose is clean with crisp citrus fruit notes and subtle white flowers. The firm, mineral palate has excellent balance of fine, almost salty acidity with intense lemon, flint and pear flavours and a long finish. It is medium to full-bodied.
Product Features: Brilliant with goat's cheese, asparagus, seafood and even Thai noodle salad.
Closure: Nomacorc ABV:13% Acidity [g/l]: 6.95
