It was January 2019 when a friend asked if there was any way to get hold of a wine from a small winery in Spain that I had never heard of. It wasn't until six months later when a good customer asked after the same winery that we got in touch with Bodegas Navajas in Rioja Alta.
It was immediately clear why these wines had been sought after by many who had tasted them. Since then, WineOnline.ie have been exclusive importers of these wines into the Irish Market and they have been an absolute hit with our customers.
The winery is a small winery owned and operated by the Navajas family. We have a wonderful relationship with them and the wines are made by Antonio who built the original winery in 1983. Merche, his daughter is in charge of exports and Magda, Antonio's wife runs the winery operations. A real family affair.
