Description:
This wine is always a popular choice during En Primeur and we expect demand to be just as strong as ever this year – especially given the attractive price of €520 per case 6x75cl in bond, making it the lowest price compared with any other vintage of Lynch.
A perennial overachiever, Lynch Bages has made a name for itself over the decades for not just being one of the great producers of Bordeaux, but also of representing excellent value. Owned by the same family – the Cazes – since the 1930s, Lynch’s reputation was initially built up by Jean-Charles Cazes, a real pioneer in Bordeaux during the 1950s and 1960s. He was the first winemaker in Bordeaux at that time to take the risk of picking later, becoming instrumental in steering Bordeaux towards a richer, riper style.
Tasting Notes:
"A balance of blackberry, chocolate and stone with a medium body, creamy texture and a soft finish. The length and depth are very pretty, while the juicy, velvety tannins are so attractive"

James Suckling
"As usual one of the chunkier, broader-shouldered wines of the Médoc, the 2023 Lynch-Bages exhibits aromas of dark berries and cassis mingled with pencil shavings, licorice and pipe tobacco, framed by creamy new oak. Medium to full-bodied, rich and layered, it's deep, concentrated and generously extracted, with plenty of youthfully chewy tannin to carry it along in the cellar. The 2023 is a blend of 71% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot.
