Description:
Attis is the new rising star from Galicia. This family-run winery from Meaño, a small village on the Atlantic coast, boasts a unique location. The vineyards are located at an altitude of up to 400 meters. The local microclimate is dry in summer but not too hot, while the mild winters are characterized by abundant rainfall. The soils are sandy and have a low clay content, which is rather rare in this region. This prevents waterlogging, and the vines are forced to develop deep roots – ideal conditions for exceptionally mineral and very fresh wines. The personable winemaker, Robustiano Fariña, cultivates the heritage and tradition of the winegrowing culture with extreme dedication and precision. Attis is one of the very few wineries to cultivate old, long-forgotten indigenous grape varieties such as Caiño, Souson, and Espadeiro.
Tasting Note: Intense straw yellow with golden reflections. The nose is very intense, deep, and complex – ripe white fruits (apricot, Williams pear, vineyard peach) combined with delicate roasted nut aromas, spicy notes, and mineral and smoky hints. Dense and powerful on the palate, carried by precise acidity, great freshness, and impressive persistence. A wine with plenty of personality and excellent aging potential.
Food pairing: Ideal with fine fish dishes, seafood, scallops, creamy risottos, poultry, and mature soft cheeses. A perfect accompaniment to fine dining.
