Raices is a range of wines based solely on indigenous Spanish varieties. Most of these varieties are strongly connected to their particular, native region. Their intention is to bring the beautiful spectrum of Spain's often unknown grape varieties to the consumer. Raices is his ode to authentic Spanish grape varieties. Its roots run deep in the soil and history of one of Europe's oldest wine cultures.
Fabla # 506 is one of the original wines produced for the first time in 1999 in the winery, blending Garnacha and Syrah. The vineyards located in the highest areas southeast of Calatayud are mainly based on slate and quartzite deposited in a sandstone terrain formed in the Tertiary Period by glacier activity. These soils, composed mainly of stones and gravel, are poor in nutrients and have a high drainage capacity: they are very specific for bush-trained Garnacha vines. 30% of the Garnacha is aged for 3 months in barrels.
Tasting Note: Intense cherry red colour. Typical Garnacha with aromas of ripe red fruit, plums, figs and some black pepper and minerality.
Best Served with : Great with pasta, red meats, roasted or grilled poultry, cured meats, tapas and tuna or grilled red mullet.
