Muriel Rioja Gran Reserva
Country: Spain Region: Rioja
Varietal: Tempranillo
Colour: Red Style: Dry
Producer: Bodegas Muriel
Description:
Muriel Wines was created as a family business with strong links to its place of origin. Today, it has become a large global company with an important part of its business dedicated to exports. But it remains very connected to its roots: one foot in the vineyard and the other in the rest of the world.
This Gran Reserva is a true Rioja classic. With great aromatic complexity and a smooth and unctuous mouthfeel, it comes from the old Tempranillo vineyards that Muriel owns in the town of Elciego. Perfected after a long and careful aging of 24 months in oak barrels.
Tasting Note:
On the nose it is very intense, with aromas of vanilla, coffee, spices and ripe fruit, combined with hints of maturation in the bottle: leather, dried leaves, tobacco. On the palate it's smooth and silky, with a lot of personality.
Food Pairing:
All types of roast meat. Classic recipes, such as game stews. Mature and smoked cheeses. Dark chocolate desserts.
