Corte Ibla 1697 Rosso Appassimento

Corte Ibla is located in the Vittoria area of southeastern Sicily. Vittoria is called the “Winemaker’s Paradise” with its red soil, rolling vineyards, cool sea breezes and many hours of sunshine – the absolutely optimal conditions for winegrowing. Vittoria is also known for producing Sicily’s only DOCG (the highest quality standard in Italy).

At Corte Ibla, innovation is as important a part of the philosophy and wine production as respect for the long-standing traditions.

The wines are organic and great care is taken to leave a minimal footprint after production. They grow their own natural fertilizer in the form of favino beans, which are used instead of conventional fertilizer.

This wonderful organic wine from Sicily is made in the Appassimento style which gives the wine a more concentrated fruit and darker flavours.

The Appassimento process involves partially drying the grapes under the hot Sicilian sun to concentrate the flavours and supercharges the fruit.
