Description: A wine without limits", Sot Lefriec is the first wine Irene and Laurent crafted after returning to Penedès. The couple were deciding where they wanted to make wine, and following the suggestion of Irene's father, they settled on vines planted by her grandfather. Using viticultural practices they learned while studying winemaking in Burgundy, Irene and Logan brought tactics such as yield management, hand-harvesting, and the use of indigenous yeasts. Their first vintage in 1999 was met with such critical acclaim, they decided to continue making wine in Irene's homeland.

Tasting Note: (60% merlot, 25% cabernet sauvignon and 15% carinena) Dark ruby. Saturated ruby. Fresh red berry and cherry-cola aromas are complicated by suave oak spice and candied rose. Impressively focused, sweet raspberry and cherry flavors get a kick of juicy acidity on the close, where the cola quality repeats. This is gorgeous right now."
