Cento Cavali  Nero d'Avola is made by New Zealanders Alana McGettigan & Matt Thompson  near Trapani in Sicily. According to the winery these wines are for those who are 'attentive and sensible towards the balance of wine, culture and tradition'. Very noble aspirations but we think they are simply brilliant, skip the culture and try the wines.  This wine has recently been rebranded as Cento Cavali , formerly known as Vortice 

Ageing Potential:  2-4 Years

Tasting Note:
One of our favourite Italian reds - deep cherry red in colour. Great intensity of concentrated cherry and damson fruits with a spicy overlay and excellent firm tannins giving a wine of elegant structure. Drink now or keep happily for a few years.
