No one could have predicted the celebrity status that New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc would reach in a couple of decades. It’s the varietal that has propelled New Zealand wine to the world stage, and is still by far our most widely planted variety.
The beautiful region of Marlborough at the top of the South Island accounts for the majority of production, thanks to it’s long sunny days and cool evenings.
Tasting Notes
Pours lemon-green in colour with fresh aromas of citrus and passionfruit. You will also notice a distinct currant leaf and lemongrass character typical of this single vineyard wines. A concentration of great fruit weight, nettles, guava, passionfruit and herbal notes on the palate. In the background there is a beautiful minerality running through this wine. The finish is long and dry with good fruit sweetness balanced by crisp citrus freshness and a zesty acidity.
