Country: Spain Region: Rioja

Varietal: Verdejo

Vintage: 2017 Colour: White Style: Dry

Producer: Marques De Riscal

Description:
The vines used for this wine are more than 100 years old, they are ungrafted on pre-Phylloxera stocks from the Aldeanueva del Codonal and Aldehuela districts. The Segovia verdejo is different to that of Rueda due to the acid, granite nature of the soil.
Known primarily for their red wines, this is as fine a white wine as you will ever taste from Spain.

Tasting Note:

A fine example of what Verdejo can be about. It is finely textured with well controlled fruit, displaying the lime characters and citrus edge of this variety. Rich lemon yellow in colour. It has a fragrant bouquet of wild herbs, lemon zest, mineral and lime blossom. The palate shows a creamy texture, harmonious body. A white wine with depth of expression on a crisp finish.

Food Matches: This wine pairs well with fish in sauce, white meat, roast lamb, cheese, grilled vegetables and pulse dishes.
