Decanter Wines of the year 2024🥇

Feb 21, 2025Sarah Kelly

As we step into 2025, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the standout wines of the past year. Decanter’s esteemed regional editors have tasted and scored some of the finest wines from around the world, awarding them between 95 and 100 points. Out of the 65 wines they selected, we’ve narrowed down to our 8 favourites, and we have small parcels of all of them, available now.

Cheap these wines are not, but all of them are available by the bottle, and all of them are considered Top 5 in the country they were produced in. The standard here is high and the availability small of each of them. If you’re looking to explore some of the highest-rated bottles of 2024 at a *slightly* more affordable price, our recommendations are the following:

🇪🇸 Abel Mendoza Viura – 95 Points
An outstanding Spanish white wine that beautifully balances elegance and complexity. With alluring aromas of white flowers, a touch of spice, and delicate oak influence, this Viura is a refined yet approachable bottle. Citrus notes of lemon and lime add brightness, while its weighty texture makes it a compelling wine to savour.
Drink: 2025 – 2037 | 13.5% ABV | €40

🇫🇷 Louis Jadot Château des Jacques Moulin-à-Vent, Beaujolais – 95 Points
This is Beaujolais at its finest—structured, complex, and full of character. Floral violet notes, dark fruits, and hints of black olive create a wine that is both refined and expressive. A true terroir-driven wine with an impressive depth of flavour, this is a perfect introduction to the world of Decanter’s highest-rated wines.
Drink: 2025 – 2032 | 14% ABV | €40

For those looking to explore more Decanter-awarded wines at a great value, we also have the Decanter Gold Medal Case—a curated selection of gold medal winning wines in 2024.
