Feudi di San Gregorio Taurasi is produced in the commune of Taurasi. 15-20 year old vines are grown at between 1,000 – 1,600 ft above sea level with southern and southwestern exposures. The soil is deep and originally from ash and fallen pumice. The surface and deep layers are silty sand.

The cherished sub-region of Taurasi has an array of wines known worldwide for their significance and reputation. Located in sun-soaked Irpinia, Taurasi is a sub-region of Campania, the  Taurasi's unparalleled elegance is due to the region's specific climate, soil, and winemaking techniques. These elements produce a style of wine found nowhere else in Italy or the world. Taurasi red wine, produced exclusively from the Aglianico grape variety

Vinification:

Manual harvesting begins during the third week of October. After de-stemming and pressing, the must macerate and ferments in stainless steel tanks for 15 days at a controlled temperature of 24ºC. Fermentation and maceration in stainless steel tanks for 3 weeks, followed by around 18 months maturation in medium toasted French barrels. The wine is then aged for 9 months in bottle before release.

Tasting Notes:

Brilliant ruby ​​red with garnet reflections, fragrant aromas of sour cherries and morello cherries, cinnamon and nutmeg, vanilla and anise. The taste is full and balanced with sweet and soft tannins that give it a good aromatic persistence.
